NGIS (Next Generation Incubation Scheme)

MeitY incubation scheme strengthening regional pipelines for tech startups, supporting incubation infrastructure and startup growth in emerging tech areas. Beyond seed funding, NGIS gives selected startups access to a dedicated security and vulnerability assessment facility for their software products, plus a pan-India mentor pool and structured skill-building through seminars and workshops — support that goes beyond what most MeitY incubation schemes bundle in. It is implemented by STPI rather than MeitY directly, anchored to 12 named Tier-II cities, and startups typically enter through one of the local STPI-affiliated incubators covering that location. The scheme's Chunauti challenge-hunt component is a distinct entry route for startups working in nascent or hard-to-classify emerging-tech areas.
