Atal Incubation Centres (AIC) – Startup Support

Atal Incubation Centres under Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog, are institutional incubators providing early‑stage startups with incubation, co‑working, mentoring, and networks. AIM funds the centres, and many AICs offer small seed grants or stipends. AIM funds each AIC host institution with up to ₹10 crore spread over five years to build out infrastructure, and it is that institutional grant — not a direct-to-startup cash disbursement — that typically funds any seed grants or stipends a given AIC later offers its resident startups. Because support levels are set independently by each centre, a founder's actual funding (commonly cited in the ₹5-25 lakh range where offered) depends heavily on which AIC they are admitted to and its specific sector focus, whether that is manufacturing, transport, energy, health, education, agriculture or water & sanitation. Applicants should treat the incubation, mentoring and network access as the primary value, with any stipend as a secondary, centre-specific benefit.
