DSIR PRISM (Promoting Innovations in Individuals, Start-ups and MSMEs)

Supports individuals, startups, and MSMEs with innovative ideas to develop prototypes and scale, with a strong emphasis on demonstrable working models and commercial potential. Phase I offers up to ₹20 lakh. PRISM's Phase I is itself split into two categories: Category-I supports proof-of-concept and prototype work up to ₹2 lakh (or 90% of project cost), while Category-II funds fabrication of a working model, testing, patenting, and technology transfer up to the ₹20 lakh referenced in this scheme's funding text. A separate Phase II track supports enterprise incubation for innovators who have already cleared Phase I or independently demonstrated proof of concept, funded up to ₹50 lakh or 50% of project cost, with a further PRISM-R&D window open to research institutes solving problems for MSME clusters. This tiered structure means an applicant's award size depends heavily on which category and phase their submission is assessed under, not a single fixed grant amount.
