It aims to strengthen the Tier II/III ecosystem and is often indirect. GENESIS consolidates several MeitY startup-support instruments rather than operating as a single fund: early-stage support (up to ₹10 lakh, no matching required) targets idea/prototype-stage founders, while pilot and deep-tech components run considerably higher with matched investment requirements. The scheme's five-year target is to engage over 10,000 tech startups and directly support roughly 1,600 of them, with emphasis on electronics design and manufacturing, deep-tech software, AI/ML, IoT, VLSI/semiconductor, and cybersecurity.
