GENESIS — Gen-Next Support for Innovative Startups

GENESIS is a MeitY program to discover, support, grow, and scale technology startups, especially from Tier 2 and Tier 3 regions. The official scheme corpus is ₹490 crore, with startup support ranging from early-stage grants to deep-tech support up to ₹1 crore. GENESIS's ₹490 crore, five-year corpus is explicitly structured to consolidate several older MeitY startup schemes into one, with a stated ambition of engaging over 10,000 tech startups nationally and directly supporting roughly 1,600 of them. Funding is tiered by need: up to ₹10 lakh in early-stage support with no matching requirement, pilot funding typically averaging ₹40-50 lakh, and 1:1 matched investment funding for later-stage deep-tech components, with priority sectors spanning electronics design and manufacturing, AI/ML, VLSI/semiconductors, IoT, and cybersecurity.
